BankTech Asia 2016 to focus on the role of fintech to boost financial inclusion in Indonesia

It will be held on 24th-25th August at Sheraton Gandaria City Jakarta.

According to a press release, the 8th Annual BankTech Asia will provide attendees with a better understanding and expectation on the future of banking technology. The 8th Annual BankTech Asia: Jakarta Series will cover topics on booming of digital banking, improving service delivery by using innovative technologies, weighing on modern day customers trends, and also exploring opportunities in fast paced technology advancement and integrating technology in retail banking business.

Indonesia’s banking sector is in the fast track to enter Bank 3.0., making this sector fundamental to incorporate technology as a key to the banks’ survival, where in countries such as Indonesia, geographical fragmentation represents numbers of unavoidable challenges for banks that plan to expand their outreach to the unbanked market segments. Even though traditional non-bank players have a greater presence in remote and rural areas with large populations of bankable unbanked, significant distance to the nearest outlet, high fees and lack of trust remain key disadvantages.
