Metrobank signs deal to support Japanese SMEs

Metrobank will work with JBIC and Japanese financial institutions.

Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation to develop and strengthen a framework that supports Japanese small and medium enterprises and middle-tier firms through Japanese regional financial institutions.

JBIC will hold consultations with Metrobank to support the business expansion in the Philippines of SMEs that are clients of Japanese regional financial.

Metrobank will work with JBIC and Japanese financial institutions to provide support to the Japanese lender’s clients as they enter or expand their presence in the Philippines.

It believes the collaboration will spur mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation that will redound to job and wealth generation for thousands of Filipinos and sustainable growth for Japanese entrepreneurs, he added.
