CIMB Bank to open branches in Malaysia over two weekends

This is to facilitate financial aid to clients upon the expiry of the loan moratorium.

CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic Bank will open all branches and auto finance centres in Malaysia over the weekends of 19 and 20 as well as 26 and 27 September, a statement read.

This is in order to facilitate financial aid to clients upon the expiry of the six-month loan moratorium on 30 September.

CIMB branches will be operating from 9.30am to 1.00pm, Saturday and Sunday, over both weekends. Auto finance centres will be open from 9:00am to 1:30pm, Saturday and Sunday, for two consecutive weekends starting from 19 September.

Starting mid-September, CIMB will be sending out letters and emails to all borrowers who have not contacted the bank to remind them of the commencement of installments in October.

The move will allow borrowers to have a face-to-face discussion with bank representatives to better understand payment assistance options. This includes those eligible for enrollment into CIMB’s targeted assistance programme and borrowers who were not directly impacted by the pandemic but require payment assistance.
