Bank of East Asia warns of fake website

Customers who used the site are advised to report their cases to the police.

The Bank of East Asia (BEA) has warned customers that it has no affiliation to the website https://hkbea.nresidents.co/online/.

Customers who may have provided personal information or conducted any financial transactions through the website were asked to immediately report their cases to the police and call BEA’s customer service hotline for assistance.

Customers are also advised not to visit the website or download any suspicious files from the website.

BEA said that it has reported incidents to the Hong Kong Police and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority related to the site, and warned that it “will take any action deemed necessary and appropriate to protect its reputation and the interests of its customers and the general public.
