Liquid, Asia United Bank launch cross-border QR payments service

This will enable cross-border transactions between Singapore and the Philippines.

Mobile payments firm Liquid has partnered with Asia United Bank (AUB) to enable cross-border QR payments between Singapore and the Philippines, according to a press release.

Under this venture, local merchants can accept Liquid QR payment apps and its partners through the AUB PayMate app, an all-in-one cashiering tool that can process e-wallet transactions via mobile, a web portal, and an API. The roll-out will cover merchants across Manila and other tourist destinations in the Philippines.

In April, Liquid launched the world’s first integrated payments and marketing infrastructure at Changi Airport, and has strengthened other cross-border QR ventures with partners in Hong Kong and Indonesia.
