CIMB Group, CIMB Bank Berhad CEO resigns

Zafrul Aziz left to assume the Malaysian finance minister role.

Zafrul Aziz has stepped down as CIMB Group Holdings CEO and CIMB Bank Berhad CEO to assume the finance ministerial position in the Malaysian government.

He has also resigned from his other board positions.

The board has named Omar Siddiq, current group chief operating officer, as officer-in-charge for both institutions.
