Hong Kong’s PAO Bank (PAObank) has appointed Ronald Iu as chief executive and executive director of its board.

Iu has previously served as chief executive of Airstar Bank and ZA Bank, two other digital banks in the city.

He brings 20 years of experience in banking and finance and has held leadership roles in China CITIC Bank International, Standard Chartered, PrimeCredit, and GE Capital (HK).

Iu said that he will work with PAObank’s management team to create better products and user experience for SMEs and individual customers.

He noted PAObank’s goal of becoming 'the convenient wealth management digital bank' in everyone's mind.

“While continuing to offer competitive deposit interest rates as part of client rewards, we will expand into diversified financial services and products to fully develop our retail banking capabilities,” Iu said.
