MUFG names Angus St. John as head of financial sponsor coverage in APAC

St. John has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

MUFG has appointed Angus St. John as head of financial sponsor coverage, Asia Pacific, effective 4 October

The newly-created role tasks St. John with building up the bank’s regional sponsor coverage franchise, which offers client-focused services ranging from private equity firms and sovereign funds to asset management and other investor groups, MUFG said.
 
St. John will be based in Sydney. He reports to Drew Riethmuller, MUFG’s head of global corporate & investment banking for Oceania and co-head of MUFG’s Sydney Branch.
 
St. John has over 25 years of experience covering institutional investor and financial sponsor clients. He had previously served as executive director, head of Southeast Asia for JPMorgan Investor Services. He also worked as managing director, investor client management for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
