StashAway launches wealth management offering for Hong Kong’s HNWs
HNW clients make up 65% of StashAway’s AUM in the city.
Investment platform StashAway has launched a wealth management offering aimed at high-net-worth individuals in Hong Kong.
StashAway Reserve offers private credit investment opportunities to the city’s HNW individuals for a fraction of the traditional minimum investment required. It offers wealth advisory services and access to institutional-grade private market investments from global fund managers, such as Hamilton Lane, KKR, and Khosla Ventures, at low minimums and fees.
Under StashAway Reserve, clients in Hong Kong can receive personalised and comprehensive financial advice from a dedicated Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) licensed Wealth Advisor.
Wealth advisory services include annual financial planning sessions and bi-annual portfolio reviews of investments within and outside of StashAway.
StashAway was first launched in Singapore as one of the wealth management platforms that target the mass market: retail investors barred from traditional banks’ wealth management services, which are often reserved for the ultra-wealthy or individuals with multi-million dollars in cash and investments assets. This shuts out customers who may have six to lower seven-figure assets or are just below this requirement.
Despite their initial roots, high net worth clientele now reportedly makes up 65% of StashAway’s assets under management in Hong Kong.
“There is a huge gap in the market for high-net-worth investors whose wealth creation needs are poorly met by premium and private banks,” said Michael Ferrario, co-founder and CEO of StashAway.
“Private market investments shouldn’t be just for the ultra-wealthy; and wealth advisory that prioritises clients’ interests, not commission fees, shouldn’t be the exception. We’re excited to bring StashAway Reserve to Hong Kong, offering unbiased wealth advisory and access to private markets at a much lower entry point,” said Ferrario.
