It aims to enhance business banking and expand its market share in regional Australia.
Australia’s Westpac plans to hire 350 bankers by 2027 and enhance its business banking.
The bank said that it has hired 135 bankers in the first half of 2025 alone, based on a business and wealth unit update on 2 September 2025.
Its digital tool BizEdge allows faster processing for business loans. The bank said that it’s slashed deal times to between six and eight hours, down from more than 14 hours previously.
Westpac also pinpointed regional Australia as a key area of opportunity to grow its market share, with three new service centers in New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania.
