Liechtenstein’s VP Bank scales up Asian operations with new hires

The bank has appointed Johnny Heng as head of its Singapore branch.

Liechtenstein-based VP Bank has announced senior appointments in Asia as part of its bid to establish itself as an international open wealth service pioneer under its “Strategy 2026.”

The bank has appointed Johnny Heng as head of its Singapore branch. Heng has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, having worked previously for Nomura Singapore and Credit Suisse Private Bank, amongst other firms. In line with VP Bank’s Strategy 2026, Heng will be responsible for developing and scaling the Bank's operations and activities in Singapore.

VP Bank has also appointed Veronica Ong as its regional lead, marketing & communications Asia. Ong previously worked as head of marketing, Southeast Asia, for Credit Suisse.

The Liechtenstein bank also made a number of appointments in its Hong Kong wealth management business. 

Kenneth Chan has been appointed as the head of Intermediaries Hong Kong, effective 1 June. Chan reportedly has over 30 years of financial services experience, and will help in the development and implementation of VP Bank’s growth strategy in the Greater China region. 

Chan had previously worked for EFG Bank AG, UBS AG, Pictet & Cie (Europe), Standard Chartered Private Bank and DBS Hong Kong.

Two new relationship managers, Alice Chan and Karen Ho, have also been added to the team. Chan previously worked for UBS AG Hong Kong, Standard Chartered, DBS, and ICBC. Ho joins from EFG Bank and has held various positions at UBS, HSBC, Citi, and AIA prior to that.
