Mizuho Asia & Oceania appoints new co-head of global transaction banking

Ashutosh Kumar joins from Standard Chartered Bank.

Mizuho Bank Asia & Oceania has appointed Ashutosh Kumar as co-head of global transaction banking for the region.

Kumar’s appointment is expected to enhance the bank’s range of cash and trade solutions for corporate clients and drive the digital transformation of the global transaction banking business. 

Kumar reports to Tokyo-based Yoshisuke Maeda, head of global transaction banking, with regional reporting to Yasuhiro Kubota, managing executive officer and CEO for Asia & Oceania (excluding East Asia).

Kumar, who hails from Singaporean, brings over 20 years of global experience, with a deep understanding of, and extensive experience in, Asia and the Global Transaction Banking business. 

He joins from Standard Chartered Bank, where he held many senior roles including Global Head of Working Capital; Global Head of Transaction Banking Sales, Commercial Banking; Regional Head of ASEAN & South Asia, Transaction Banking; Global Head of Banking the Ecosystem and Global Head of Corporate Cash & Trade Products.
