NAB deploys AI analytics tool saving 2-4 days per use case

Genie translates plain English questions into structured SQL queries.

National Australia Bank (NAB) is rolling out a conversational artificial intelligence (AI) analytics tool.

The tools, Databricks’ Genie and Genie code tools, make querying complex datasets as easy as asking a plain English question, with answers received in seconds, NAB said in a statement in June 2026.

Genie translates plain English business questions into structured query language (SQL) queries.

NAB said that its early use of the tools shows 2 to 4 days of development time saved per use case.

Genie allows users to ask questions of data using natural language translating plain-English business questions into governed SQL queries and returning auditable answers in seconds.

NAB said it is the first bank in Australia using this capability in its analytics community.
