SMFG to merge cloud service Sustana in business partner Asuene’s products

Sustana provides the Japanese bank’s clients calculations of GHG emissions.

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) is expanding its capital and business alliance with Asuene with the goal of accelerating decarbonisation not just in Japan but globally.

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) will merge its cloud service Sustana with Asuene’s products in the future, after obtaining approval from relevant authorities.

Full integration with Asuene is expected to take approximately 1 year.

Sustana is SMBGC’s cloud service that it provides to corporations to calculate and help reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Sustana services will continue to be provided until Sustana is fully integrated into Asuene.

SMBC and Asuene first entered their capital and business alliance in June 2024.
