Westpac to enable subscription viewing and cancellation in app
3 in 10 Australians say they are wasting money on duplicate or unused subscriptions.
Westpac customers will soon be able to view and cancel subscriptions directly in their banking app.
The Australian bank is collaborating with Mastercard on a new feature that will allow customers to see all their subscriptions on one platform, with the ability to view and cancel unused or unwanted services, according to an online statement on 28 November 2025.
Westpac customers typically spend $6.7b annually in subscriptions, according to data shared by the bank. A poll by Westpac found that 3 in 10 (31%) of Australians admit that they are wasting money on duplicate or unused subscriptions.
“Today, customers must contact each subscription company separately to cancel a service. Our new feature will mean they can do it all conveniently from the Westpac app,” said Carolyn McCann, Westpac chief executive of consumer.
“This new tool will help customers spot what’s not working for them and cancel it on the spot, giving them greater visibility and control, and making money management smarter, faster and easier,” McCann added.
