NAB brings live sign language interpreting to all branches

This is expected to make face-to-face banking more accessible for deaf customers.

National Australia Bank (NAB) is rolling out online sign language services to all of its branches.

Bank customers visiting any branch can scan a QR code and instantly connect with a live Auslan interpreter. Auslan is the native sign language of Australia’s deaf community.

The bank expects the move to make face-to-face banking more accessible for Deaf Australians.

NAB says it is the first bank in Australia to offer in-branch Auslan interpreting nationally.

The Auslan interpreting service will be available in the branch for everyday banking conversations, NAB said.
