Societe Generale opens seventh China branch

Says this proves SG’s commitment to the Chinese market.

Societe Generale, one of the oldest banks in France, opened its seventh branch, this one in Harbin in northeast Heilongjiang. SG said the operation of the Harbin branch is another milestone in its 32-year-presence in China.

It is the only French bank that provides banking services in China. SG seven branches are in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, Wuhan, Hangzhou and now Harbin.

Founded in 1864, SG is one of the oldest banks in France. In 1981, SG became one of the first international banks to open a representative office in Beijing.
