Alipay+ available to Asian tourists for Barcelona, Madrid Clarins purchases

About 60% of Clarins Spain shoppers are from Asian nationalities pre-pandemic.

French family-owned company Clarins has expanded its payment options to cater to Asian consumers visiting its stores in Barcelona and Madrid.

Shoppers in Clarins' La Roca and Las Rozas Village stores can now pay using Alipay.

Clarins has also integrated Alipay+ and other popular Asian e-wallets to attract and better serve its customers. The expansion enabled Asian shoppers to make seamless transactions using their smartphones and QR codes.

Moreover, they can effortlessly access local app promotions. The integration of Alipay+ into the point-of-sale (POS) terminals at Clarins stores, facilitated by PayXpert, Alipay+'s partner in Spain, has made this expansion possible.

“Around 60% of the clients of the Clarins own boutiques (Las Rozas Village y La Roca Village) clients in Spain came from Asia before the pandemic. Now we are getting back to those levels and offering them to pay through Alipay+ that connects some of the most popular e-wallets in Asia, brings consumers security and ease, and we expect the integration to help increase of this audience in the coming months,” said Cristina Sánchez, retail manager for Clarins, Spain.
