Japan’s JCB boosts card acceptance in France with FrenchSys partnership

French acquirers need to perform less certification before they can accept JCB cards.

Japan-based card payments company JCB has partnered with FrenchSys to boost card acceptance in France.

This alliance is expected to help banks, terminal manufacturers, and merchant partners to accept JCB Cards easier.

With this partnership, French acquirers no longer need to perform additional Level 3 certification for terminals to accept contact and contactless payments from JCB cards.

This agreement applies to all payment terminals that comply with FrenchSys-defined FRv6 and nexo standards, which integrate the latest payment innovations, such as online PIN, and can work with all national and international card schemes present in France.
