Luxury travel retailer DFS taps Alipay+ to offer cross-border payments for Asian travellers

DFS and Alipay are also developing other membership offers and rewards.

DFS Group, a luxury travel retailer under LVMH, has partnered with Ant Group to leverage Alipay+ and offer more targeted payment and shopping experience.

Through Alipay+, DFS plans to offer more targeted, personalised, and relevant rewards for shoppers, including exclusive offers. 

It also enables cross-border payment acceptance from mobile wallets, which will enable travellers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, and Thailand to simply pay using their home mobile wallet.

DFS will be able to accept cross-border payments from Alipay (Chinese mainland), AlipayHK (Hong Kong SAR), Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia), Kakao Pay (South Korea) and TrueMoney (Thailand).

DFS has also launched the Alipay+ D-Store within the Alipay app, which will reportedly allow Chinese tourists to shop from DFS at any time.

Services offered include the ability to reserve products and collecting them in-store or having them delivered. 

DFS and Alipay also shared that they are developing other innovative membership privileges, such as tier-matching, premier foreign exchange rate and projects that provide exclusive in-store experience.
