PayNet launches Alipay+ and WeChat Pay promos to lift DuitNow QR payments
It includes discounts and even an all-expense trip to Hong Kong.
Malaysia’s national payments network PayNet has teamed up with Alipay+ and Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay) to roll out campaigns aimed at boosting cross-border spending via PayNet’s DuitNow QR ecosystem.
Tourists using AlipayCN, Alipay+ partner payment apps, and Weixin Pay can pay in Malaysia via the DuitNow QR, accepted at over 2.5 million merchants in Malaysia, according to a press release.
Amongst the campaigns includes discount coupons and even an all-expense paid trip to Hong Kong for the Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur football game.
Until 14 July 2025, two Alipay+ and AlipayCN users who spend at DuitNow QR merchants will have a chance to win round-trip flight tickets to Hong Kong, a three-day two-night luxury hotel stay, and tickets to the football match.
Until 30 September 2025, AlipayCN and Alipay+ users who spend at DuitNow QR merchants will also have access to discounts for Malaysia’s F&B scene and tourist attractions.
Weixin Pay users, meanwhile, can get a collectible badge campaign with each DuitNow QR transaction. This can be used to redeem discount coupons.
PayNet also announced that Weixin Pay users can enjoy “year-round preferential foreign exchange rates” when making purchases via DuitNow QR in Malaysia.
