Taiwan credit card firms’ hold $3.34b in revolving credit as of January 2024

A total of 37.89 million cards are active as of end-January, according to official data.

Taiwan’s 32 credit card institutions hold a revolving credit of $3.34b (NT$106.5b) as of end-January 2024, according to data released by the Financial Supervisory Commission.

A total of 58.8 million cards have been issued and are effective over the same period, the FSC said. Of this, 37.89 million are active, higher than the 37.77 million active cards in end-December.

Undue balance is $6.15b (NT$194.3b). Monthly retail sales were approximately $12.19b (NT$385.2b) during the month.

The amount of monthly write-off was approximately $15.8m (NT$0.5b), slightly lower than in December.

Average ratio of delinquency credit– defined as those that are past due for over three months– against account of receivables was 0.25%, inching up from the 0.24% in end-December.
