Visa, DealMed unveil cross-border card instalment Vietnamese cardholders
75% of surveyed Vietnamese consumers plan to travel for leisure in 2025.
Visa and fintech company DealMe partnered to introduce cross-border card instalment payment services, amidst demand for flexible payment options amongst Vietnamese and international consumers.
This initiative will allow Vietnamese Visa credit cardholders to access real-time instalment offers at leading merchants in South Korea, enhancing convenience for travellers.
According to Visa, 75% of surveyed Vietnamese consumers plan to travel for leisure in 2025, with South Korea as the top destination for 18% of respondents.
Vietnamese Visa credit cardholders will be able to use the new service at South Korean duty-free shops, department stores, and medical institutions.
The collaboration also extends instalment payment options to international consumers using Visa cards at participating South Korean merchants.
Eligible cardholders can select their preferred instalment duration during transactions.
This service, previously unavailable for cross-border payments, represents a significant expansion of payment flexibility for global shoppers.
DealMe will leverage Visa's global network under an MOU signed with Visa's Asia-Pacific headquarters in November 2024.
The service will launch in South Korea and is expected to expand to Vietnam, the United States, Australia, Japan, and Singapore.
