Vietnam, Ant International partner for fintech push in Ho Chi Minh City
This aims to guide the city on fintech regulations and provide platforms for SMEs.
The Vietnam Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR Vietnam) and Ant International signed a partnership to push Vietnam’s digital economy and Ho Chi Minh City’s (HCMC) goal to become a global financial centre and regional fintech hub.
Aside from payment infrastructure, the partnership will focus on developing Vietnam’s domestic fintech ecosystem through regulations and talent development.
The partnership also aims to benefit small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
C4IR and Ant International will jointly advise the HCMC on regulatory strategies and policy support to attract foreign businesses.
It will use Ant International’s 6T (travel, trade, thrive, technology, talent, trust) framework.
Ant International will support HCMC and local partners in joint innovation initiatives and capacity-building in the county’s fintech industry development.
SMEs can avail Ant International’s Alipay+, Antom, Bettr and WorldFirst.
The partnership will establish training programmes for local startups in areas such as digital finance, cross-border payments, compliance, and fintech operations.
