Zubin Rada Krishnan joins BigPay as group CEO

The company plans to launch in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines within the year.

BigPay, the venture company of Capital A (formerly AirAsia Group), has appointed Zubin Rada Krishnan as the acting Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

He will succeed Salim Dhanani, who ended his term last February to pursue another opportunity. Previously, Krishnan was the country head of BigPay Malaysia.

“With an increased focus on our customers and deeper collaboration with AirAsia Superapp, I am confident in achieving greater growth for BigPay, which saw 56% year-on-year growth in revenue and a 43% improvement in gross profit margins,” Krishnan said.

Krishnan previously worked at Boston Consulting Group for over six years, where he specialized in financial services. He co-founded Tuas Capital Partners and played a strategy role at Hong Leong Bank before joining BigPay.

Krishnan began his career at KPMG Business Advisory, working with financial institutions on financial risk and strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford.

“We have a stellar, talented team behind the business, who are instrumental in deepening and expanding our footprint in Malaysia and across ASEAN, with a planned launch in Thailand later this year, followed by Indonesia and the Philippines.” Krishnan added.
