Kakao Pay beset with 2 hour service disruption

This was subsequent to its the messaging app’s recent cyber disruption.

South Korean online payment service Kakao Pay underwent a service disruption for two hours on 15 May, said the firm.

KaKao Pay was down from 12:10 PM to 2:15 PM, according to a report by Yonhap News Agency.

This incident comes a week after Kakao Corp’s other business, Kakao Talk, also faced a log-in issue and message-sending failure.

It was said the interference was caused by heavy traffic in its database, which affected the online transactions and payments made by its users.
