Mizuho launching universal bank in Europe, to close offices in 4 cities

The new bank will be based in Amsterdam, with offices in Frankfurt, Madrid, and Paris.

Mizuho Financial Group is combining its banking and securities business in Europe and creating a universal bank.

Mizuho Bank Europe N.V., based in Amsterdam, and Mizuho Securities Europe GmbH, based in Frankfurt, will merge in FY2025 to form Mizuho Bank Europe. The new universal bank will be known as Mizuho Bank Europe, and will be based in Amsterdam, with branches in Frankfurt, Madrid and Paris.

Offices in Brussels, Dusseldorf, Milan, and Vienna will be closed, subject to regulatory approval.
