Malaysian central bank warns against entities impersonating it

A social media post had claimed that the central bank is supporting an investment platform.

Malaysia’s central bank has warned against entities impersonating it.

In a post published on its website, the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) reminded the public that it does not endorse any investment schemes.

“Do not be deceived by videos, postings or messages that misuse Bank Negara Malaysia’s name, logo or senior officer’s name. Actions will be taken against the perpetrators,” BNM said in the post.

“It is important to remember that BNM does not endorse any investment schemes,” it added.
