Bhutan enables national-level crypto payment with Binance Pay

The QR payments are expected to accept over 100 cryptos. 

Bhutan is implementing a national-level crypto payment system for tourism.

The country’s DK Bank, a digital bank, is collaborating with Binance Pay to enable Binance Pay users to pay in Bhutan using supporting cryptocurrencies, according to a press release.

Payment is done via QR. Over 100 cryptocurrencies are accepted, including BNB, BTC, and USDC, they said.

Amongst services that can be paid using cryptocurrency include airline tickets to Bhutan, tourist visa and Sustainable Development fee, hotel bookings, tour guides, monument entry fees, and local shopping, amongst others.

There are now over 100 merchants that have joined the initiative.
