Taiwan’s credit card balance rise in March

Undue balance of installment was approximately NT$167.5b for the period.

The balance of credit in credit cards issued in Taiwan was $3.73b (NT$113.1b) in end-March, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

This is higher than the $3.72b (NT$112.8b) at end-February 2025.

A total of 39.25 million cards were active during the month out of the 58.99 million effective cards in total issued by 32 institutions in Taiwan.

The amount of undue balance of installment was approximately $5.53b (NT$167.5b).

The amount of monthly retail sales was $12.45b (NT$377.2b) over the same period.

Average monthly write-offs were $21.12m (NT$0.64b).

Average ratio of delinquency credit was 0.31%, rising from 0.3% at end-February.
