Financial conglomerates top Taiwan’s richest in 2025

Fubon Financial Holding’s and Cathay Financial Holdings’ leads are in the top 3.

Fubon Financial Holding’s Daniel and Richard Tsai and their family were named Taiwan’s richest in 2025 by Forbes.

The siblings were valued at $13.9b. Shares of Fubon Financial Holding jumped 16% compared to last year on expanding banking operations.

Key subsidiaries of Fubon Financial Holding include Fubon Insurance Co. Ltd., the Taipei Fubon Bank, Fubon Life, Fubon Bank (China) and Fubon Bank (Hong Kong).

The Tsai Hong-tu & Cheng-ta & family were Taiwan’s third richest with a $10.5b net worth. The family leads Cathay Financial Holdings, under which operates Cathay United Bank and Cathay Life Insurance.

Jeffrey Koo Jr., who owns a significant stake in CTBC Financial Holding, ranked 11th with a net worth of $4.9b.

The Ma family, which holds the largest stake in Taiwan’s Yuanta Financial Holdings, has a net worth of $4.35b and ranked 14th on the list. It operates Yuanta Bank and Yuanta Life.
