Citi poaches BofA banker for vice chair of tech investment banking

Ric Spencer was global co-head of technology investment banking in BofA.

Ric Spencer has joined Citi as vice chair, Technology Investment Banking.

Spencer has over three decades of experience covering the technology sector and has spent the last 17 years at Bank of America, where he was most recently global co-head of Technology Investment Banking.

He reportedly advised some of the largest M&A deals in the technology sector, including Elon Musk's $44b acquisition of Twitter, Amazons’ $8.5b acquisition of MGM, Synchrony’s $7.6b acquisition of PayPal’s consumer credit receivables portfolio, and Facebook’s $5.7b investment in Jio Platforms.

He is based in San Francisco, California, USA, and reports to Mark Keene, Global Head of Technology Banking.
