SMBC launches transaction banking brand SMBC Connect
The Japanese megabank is revamping its TB and especially its cash management services.
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) has rolled out a new global transaction banking brand, “SMBC Connect.”
SMBC Connect encompasses its payment and cash management services. It will roll-out a range of new functionalities and offerings starting fiscal year 2026, according to a press release in April 2026.
SMBC will revamp its existing transaction banking services, starting with its cash management services (CMS) offered globally with the goal of delivering more intuitive and user-friendly experiences.
It will make use of application programming interfaces (APIs), cloud technologies, and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance services such as pooling, the bank said.
The Japanese megabank also floated plans to launch new transaction banking services globally, such as a next-generation CMS in North America in June 2026.
