Alipay debuts AI agent interface “Ah Bao” in China
Users only need to speak to Ah Bao, pick a service listed, and pay for it without switching apps or pages.
Alipay has launched “Ah Bao”, an AI agent interface, in China.
Users can access over 10,000 everyday services through conversations after switching to the agent version of Alipay. Switching interfaces will be by swiping right on its homepage.
The interface is available by invitation only and will be gradually made available to all users.
As an example, Alipay said that a driver whose electric vehicle is running low can simply ask Ah Bao via speech to find a charging station, and Ah Bao will list all nearby charging stations ranked by distance. Ah Bao will also show real-time availability of fast and slow charging slots, as well as pricing, Alipay said.
After selecting a station, the driver simply parks and taps “Charge” without switching between apps or pages.
Alipay shared plans to launch an agent open platform for developers, merchants, and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).
