Chart of the Week: Malaysian banks' bond issuances hit US$12.7b in 1H17

It's a 41% increase from the same period last year.

According to Maybank Kim Eng, bond issues in June totalled a more normalised MYR5.2b (US$1.2b) versus MYR13.3b (US$3.1b) in May 2017 and MYR6.0b (US$1.4b) in June 2016.

Bond issuances in the first six months of 2017 amounted to MYR54.3b (US$12.7b), or a 41% YoY lead over the MYR38.5b (US$9b)issued in Jan-June 2016.
