Natixis CIB to establish banking branch in Japan
Its Tokyo branch had operated under a money lending license for three years.
Natixis Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) has established a banking branch in Japan beginning 1 July 2025.
The banking license will enable its Natixis Tokyo Branch to provide a broader range of financial services for its clients.
Natixis Tokyo Branch has operated under a money lending license since June 2022.
“Our new banking license allows us to better accompany both our global clients’ inbound activities and our Japanese clients’ domestic and outbound activities,” said Makito Nagahiro, senior country manager, Japan, at Natixis CIB.
Natixis CIB specializes in areas such as capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking and asset-backed financing.
The bank said that it has capabilities in key sectors such as infrastructure, energy & renewables, insurance, transportation, healthcare, telecom and technology.
“We are excited to establish our banking branch in Japan. It will serve to further expand our global franchise in a country that is strategic to our growth ambitions in Asia Pacific,” said Bruno Le Saint, CEO, APAC, at Natixis CIB.
