RHB announces 4 new senior appointments

Mohamad Bin Rastam Shahrom is the new group CFO.

RHB Banking Group has made four new senior management appointments effective 1 August.

Mohamed Bin Rastam Shahrom is now its group chief financial officer (GCFO). Prior to joining RHB, he was acting group CEO and group CFO of Malaysia Airports, and has also served as CFO of UEM Sunrise, a real estate company.

Phuah Shok Cheng has been appointed regional financial officer and head of strategy. She has served as acting CFO since January 2024 and will now be in charge of shaping RHB’s capital strategy.

Kevin Vijendren Davies is now a managing director/chief executive officer (MD/CEO) of RHB Investment Bank Berhad. Davies succeeds Ganesh Sabaratnam, whose contract expired on 30 June. His past roles include being a managing director of Maybank Investement Bank’s client coverage team. 

Tan Boon Ching has been named as group chief internal auditor. He succeeds Alex Tan Aun Aun, who has retired as of 31 July.

Tan has worked for PwC, Standard Chartered, and RHB. In RHB, he has served as CFO for RHB Investment Bank, and head of international strategy and governance.  Tan was later seconded to Boost Bank in November 2022, where he was also CFO.
