HSBC appoints Henry Hou as head of Energy Solutions Sales

Before joining HSBC, Hou served in a number of roles at China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange for 11 years.

HSBC today announced the appointment of Henry Hou as HSBC’s Head of Energy Solutions Sales, Greater China, Global Markets.

Hou, based in Hong Kong, is responsible for leading sales of energy risk management products to corporate clients in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, as well as Vietnam. He will work closely with HSBC’s global products and relationship teams to deliver holistic energy risk solutions for clients across the region.

Prior to joining HSBC, Hou was Head of Energy Marketing for Greater China at Morgan Stanley, where he worked for over eight years. Before that, he served in a number of roles at China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange for 11 years.

Hou reports jointly to Ivan Wong, Managing Director, Head of Corporate Sales, Greater China, Global Markets and Hossein Zaimi, Managing Director, Head of FX and Commodities, Asia-Pacific, Global Markets.

HSBC’s Energy Solutions Group was established as a major global initiative in the third quarter of 2010.

In addition to Hou's apointment, Philippe Khoury joined HSBC as Global Head of Strategic Energy Solutions, Global Banking. Khoury, also based in Hong Kong, previously worked at TOTAL S.A.
