Vietnam's interbank dong transactions up 45%

Vietnam's total interbank trading value in dong reached approximately 89.474 trillion dong.

This reveals an average of about 17.895 trillion dong per day in the week ending September 14.

The State Bank of Vietnam's report on banking operations indicates the average trading value in dong in week increased over 44 percent from the previous week and that in US dollar increased nearly 30.32 percent week on week.

During the week, transactions occurred mainly in short terms. Accordingly, the trading value in dong for short terms reached about 69.693 trillion dong, accounting for 78 percent of the total transaction volume in dong and the trading value in US dollar in week for short terms reached approximately 31.347 trillion dong, or 68 percent of the total trading value in US dollar.
