Taiwanese banks’ SME lending rises $3.38b in March: FSC
NPL ratio rose 0.01 percentage points compared to February.
Loans extended by Taiwanese banks to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) amounted to $349b (NT$11.04t) by end-March 2026.
This is an increase of $3.38b (NT$106.9b) compared to the previous month, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).
Loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 63.64% of total loans extended to total enterprises, and 67.25% of loans extended to private enterprises.
The average nonperforming loan (NPL) ratio of the SME loans was 0.21%. The ratio is 0.01 percentage point higher compared to February.
