
Taiwanese banks’ SME loans rise to $355.73b by end-June
Loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 64.73% of total loans.
Loans extended by Taiwanese banks to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) amounted to $355.73b (NT$10.67t) by end-June 2025, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).
The amount is $3.4b (NT$102b) higher compared to the end of May.
As of end-June, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 64.73% and 68.56% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises, respectively. This is higher by 0.07 and 0.19 percentage points, respectively.
In June 2025, the average non-performing loan ratio (NPL) of the SME loans was 0.21%, the same as of end-May 2025.
