Taiwan’s outstanding loans up $1.01b in April

The NPL is the same as in March, according to official data.

Total outstanding loans held by 38 Taiwanese banks rose $1.01b (NT$33b) in April 2025, compared to the previous month.

The non-performing loans (NPL) of these banks totalled $2.14b (NT$68.69b), the same as the end of the previous month, data from the Financial Supervisory Commission showed.

Coverage ratio allowances for NPLs rose by 0.59 percentage points (ppt) to 846.54%.
