Thailand to host 2026 IMF-World Bank annual meetings

More than 12,000 attendees are expected to attend the meetings.

Thailand has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to host the 2026 annual meetings of the boards of governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

The IMF-WB Annual Meetings will convene ministers and central bank governors from 190 countries, as well as the top management of international organizations and financial institutions. 

More than 300 meetings will be organized across member countries, regional groups, and leading financial institutions.

The annual meetings take place in October every year and are held outside of Washington D.C. every 3 years.

The meetings are expected to bring in more than 12,000 attendees from all over the world and generate economic activities for Thailand.

Thailand last hosted the IMF-WB Annual Meetings in 1991.
