AEON Credit’s profit climbs 16.9% as impairments and costs fall

Sales growth was due to marketing programmes and tele-marketing activities, it said.

AEON Credit Service (Asia) saw its profit for the year rise by 16.9% year-on-year (YoY) to $59.73m (HK$468.2m) in FY2025/26.

Revenue rose by 3.8% YoY to about $232.2b (HK$1.82b) on the back of domestic consumption gradually recovering and marketing strategies that boosted sales, the Hong Kong-based finance business said.

Impairment losses and impairments allowances declined by 5.5% YoY during the year, whilst cost-to-income ratio decreased to 44.5% from 46.6% previously.

Overall sales grew by 7.7% YoY, which AEON Credit attributed to “successful targeted marketing programmes and effective tele-marketing activities.”

AEON Credit’s board has recommended a final dividend of HK$0.33 per share, bringing the total dividend to HK$0.58 for the FY2025/26 period. Payout ratio is 51.9%.

For 2026, AEON Credit said it will prioritise sales and quality receivables growth through local and online spending, with a key strategic focus being the launch and implementation of the “One AEON Point” platform.

The group also plans to strengthen its artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, streamline its credit assessment process through shortening electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) screening time, and embedding additional application scoring for automated credit card and personal loan approvals.

AEON Credit also plans to revamp its customer service operations by centralising the management and tracking of customer enquiries across all channels.
