Dah Sing Bank warns against fraudulent Facebook, website

The bank has reported the case to the Hong Kong central bank and police.

Dah Sing Bank (DSB) has warned against a fraudulent Facebook page and website pretending to be Dah Sing Credit Card.

The page reportedly requests customers or members of the public to click on a web link leading to the fraudulent website (dah-sing-credit-card-xhyru[dot]myfreesites[dot]net). The site asks users to register their personal and financial details to claim rewards.

“The bank hereby confirms and advises that the fraudulent Facebook page and fraudulent website have no connection with the bank, its subsidiaries and any of its products and services,” DSB said in a statement.

DSB advised customers and the public to pay attention to the verification badge or blue tick at the end of a Facebook page and the official web link in its account page.

DSB has reported the case to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Hong Kong Police Force.

Customers who may have provided their personal and financial information via the fraudulent Facebook page and website can call DSB’s security alert hotline on 2828 8159 for assistance.
