Hang Seng Bank names ex-Ping An deputy chief exec as new general counsel

Mabel Chu served as deputy chief executive (functions) of Ping An OneConnect Bank.

Hang Seng bank has appointed Mabel Chu as general counsel and a member of its executive committee, effective 22 February 2024.

Chu will succeed Godwin Li, who is retiring in May 2024 after 29 years with the bank.

Chu has over 25 years of post-qualification experience as a corporate lawyer, working across multiple sectors including banking, fintech, investment firms, and family offices. 

Prior to her new role at Hang Seng, she served as the Deputy Chief Executive (Functions) of Ping An OneConnect Bank, and earlier, as a managing director at Comprador, an investment advisory which is the successor firm to Blackstone Advisory Partners Asia (ex-Japan).
