Hang Seng Bank warns of fake KOL Hazel Instagram account, website

The bank said that it will never ask customers to log in through embedded links.

Hang Seng Bank has warned of a fraudulent virtual KOL Hazel Instagram account that leads customers to a fake website.

The Instagram account redirects to the domain name https://tinyurl[.]com/hazel-aota, where customers are at risk of phishing by inputting their email and password in the fake website. The bank’s official Instagram account for its virtual KOL Hazel is @hazel_aota.

“The Bank would like to inform members of the public that it has no connection with the fraudulent Instagram account and website. Hang Seng will never ask customers to log in to their Personal e-Banking, or to provide personal information such as their HKID number, e-Banking login credentials, credit card credentials, one-time passwords, email address and password through embedded links, instant messaging apps or similar channels,” Hang Seng Bank stated in a press statement.
