Maybank enables Singapore, Malaysia card users to link with ApplePay

This includes users of Mastercard and Visa credit, debit, and prepaid cards.

Maybank and Maybank Islamic card users in Singapore and Malaysia can now use their Mastercard and Visa credit, debit, and prepaid cards with ApplePay.

Through this, card members will benefit from access to a “safe, contactless, and easy way to pay,” Maybank said in a press announcement.

“With our growing presence in this business segment, supported by the combined card user base of 15 million across both markets, Maybank is well placed to leverage the ease, safety and privacy of Apple Pay that would benefit our customers in both countries,” said Dato’ John Chong Eng Chuan, Maybank Group Chief Executive Officer, Community Financial Services.

To use this service, customers only need to hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near a payment terminal to make a contactless payment.
