Standard Chartered appoints new regional heads of private banking

The appointment is effective 1 January 2024.

Standard Chartered Bank has named Vinay Gandhi as global head of South Asian community, and regional head of Africa, Middle East, and Europe, Private Banking.

In his expanded role, Gandhi will be responsible for increasing the mandate and spearheading one of SCB’s largest businesses.

Gandhi’s appointment is effective from 1 January 2024.

Meanwhile, Foo Tian Ong has been appointed as regional head, Southeast Asia; and Singapore location head, private banking.

Foo will join the bank in December 2023, and will be based in Singapore.

Foo brings more than two decades of private banking experience. He joins SC from UBS, where he was most recently business sector head for Thailand and the Philippines, and was also responsible for NRI and Vietnam.

Before UBS, Foo honed his banking career in corporate banking, institutional equities sales and research at leading financial institutions, with a special focus on the Thai market.
