
Sunshine Insurance GWP grows 5.7% YoY in H1
Net profit attributable to the parent also grew by 7.8% YoY to $3.7b.
Sunshine Insurance's gross written premiums (GWPs) were $88.3b (RMBB80.81B), representing a year-on-year increase of 5.7% during the first half of the year 2025.
The net profit attributable to the parent also grew by 7.8% YoY to $3.7b (RMB3.39b) whilst embedded value reached $140b (RMB128.49b), up 11.0% YoY.
The group’s life insurance business segment stood at $60.6b (RMB55.44b), reflecting a YoY increase of 7.1%.
Its property and casualty insurance business is becoming more profitable, with non-automobile insurance making up 50.6% of premiums, a 4.5% increase from the previous year.
The portion of household auto premiums also grew by 3%. Underwriting profitability improved, with the combined ratio at 98.8% and underwriting profit up by 42.4% year on year.
The asset management business’ total investment income was $11.7b (RMB10.70b). This represents an annualised total investment yield of 4.0% and an annualised comprehensive investment yield of 5.1%.
